10 Things You May Not Know About Redbird Assistant Sommelier Josh Wibbenmeyer
1 – He was born and raised in Missouri.
2 – Josh earned a degree in film production from Webster University.
3 – He first fell in love with the restaurant industry while working at BC’s Kitchen in St. Louis under his first boss, LaVonne Nichols, and Chef Bill Cardwell.
4 – Josh initially moved to Los Angeles to be a talent manager.
5 – He later became a sommelier, inspired by his love of wine, taking care of people and sharing stories behind each bottle.
6 – Josh’s quick pick for an easy-drinking wine is anything made by Habit, especially their Cabernet Franc.
7 – Even though he has lived in Los Angeles for six years, Josh will always be a St. Louis Cardinals fan.
8 – His favorite food and wine pairing is a burger and a glass of Blaufränkisch.
9 – Outside of Redbird, you can find Josh at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles in the Rothko gallery.
10 – After seeing him sell bottles of wine as a server at Redbird, Wine Director Ben Teig moved Josh into a sommelier position.
