An Homage to Dick Bradsell | Happy Hour Cocktail Kit & Recipes

The last Wish You Were Here happy hour cocktail kit in May 2020 is an homage to Dick Bradsell – the 20th century’s most important bartender and one of Tobin’s major influences. Bradsell, born in 1959, was a British bartender known for his use of fresh ingredients and innovative creations (ie- the espresso martini) that are now considered modern classics.

Mr. Shea will be waxing poetic and may even shed a tear (or two) as he makes and sips his favorite cocktails from behind the bar on Instagram live @redbirdla on 5.29 at 5pm. Or, just pick up a kit and enjoy at your leisure. Instructions will be provided.

The kit includes the makings of 2 Brambles, 2 Treacles and a ready to drink Russian Spring in a can. Additionally, the recipes for each are below to enjoy at home even without the kit.

Bramble
Ingredients
2 oz. Bulldog Gin
3/4 oz. Lemon
1/2 oz. Simple Syrup
1/2 oz. Creme de Mure

Instructions
In a shaker, add the first 3 ingredients with a pinch of crushed ice. Shake until you can’t hear the ice. Pour directly into a rocks glass and add crushed ice. Slowly pour the Creme de Mure over the cocktail and let it slowly incorporate into the drink. Top with a blackberry and enjoy.
