Follow Redbird Bar Director Tobin Shea’s cocktail recipe instructions below to make the White Carnation from The Plain Truth About the Best Seeds Cocktail Collection. Once the official cocktail of the Belmont Stakes horse race where the winner received a blanket of the cocktail’s namesake flowers, the White Carnation is a vodka-based drink, with highlights of sweet and aromatic peaches.

White Carnation
1.5 oz Zubrowka Vodka
3/4 oz Giffard Peche de Vigne
3/4 oz Lemon Juice
1/2 oz Cream
1/2 oz Egg Whites
1/2 oz Simple Syrup

In a Boston shaker, add all ingredients with a pinch of crushed ice. Shake until the sound of the ice disappears. Pour contents into a chilled Collins glass and fill with crushed ice. Add a straw and garnish with an edible flower.
